The Quarterly Meeting of the District Level Committee for Mission Shakti was held at the DC’s Conference Hall, Wokha on March 27, 2027. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Wokha and Chairperson Mission Shakti, Vineet Kumar, IAS, and was attended by Superintendent of Police Wokha, T. Relo Aye, along with officials from various departments.
Central Administrator, Sakhi One Stop Centre, Thungbeni Kikon, presented a detailed PowerPoint highlighting activities, case registrations, and undertakings under the One Stop Centre. District Mission Coordinator, DHEW, Dr. Wonjano E. Enny, also presented various programmes and activities related to Mission Shakti, including updates on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) and its progress.
Discussions during the meeting focused on the action plan for 2026–27, covering key areas under Beti Bachao such as safety and security of girls, maternal health, adolescent health, and women-specific health issues. Under Beti Padhao, emphasis was placed on education, skill development, and opportunities in fields such as sports and music, along with other activities to empower women and girls.
District Programme Officer, Wokha, Bonathung Ngullie, highlighted the launch of the Adolescent Girls Club Newsletter, which was formally introduced during the meeting. The newsletter aims to identify and showcase academic excellence, co-curricular and extracurricular achievements among girl students of the district. It will feature students’ creative works including essays, poems, stories, drawings, and photographs, thereby fostering communication, community spirit, and celebrating creativity.
The newsletter is expected to bring several benefits, improved communication and transparency, keeping students and parents informed about upcoming events and school activities; building self-confidence and unity among girl students; motivating positive behaviours and promoting writing and communication skills; supporting learning beyond the classroom; and reinforcing trust between students, teachers, and the school community. BBBP Mission Shakti Wokha is set to lead this innovative initiative, strengthening relationships between schools, students, and parents, while helping the girl child identify her strengths and aspirations.
The meeting reaffirmed the district’s commitment to advancing the objectives of Mission Shakti and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, with a focus on holistic empowerment of women and girls through education, health, safety, and community participation.
