The Department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship successfully concluded two week long "Skill Development for Rural Women through Mobile Skill Morung" training in the job role of Baking from 12th to 14th September 2024 at Mangkolemba. 25 women successfully completed the training. The successful candidates were awarded certificates and toolkits.

The culmination event was presided over by District Employment Exchange/Model Career Centre, Mokokchung, Marsenla Longkumer while the programme was commenced with an invocation by the Associate Pastor, Mangkolemba Baptist Church, L. Watinaro.

In his training remarks, Tiamoa Tzudir of Pinnacle Skills highlighted the significance of not just providing training but also equipping participants with the necessary toolkits to foster sustainable livelihoods. He also encouraged the participants to hone their baking skit, form groups among themselves, and work toward establishing a brand.

Achetla Longchari, one of the participants, expressed her gratitude to the department and Pinnacle Skills for the valuable training and support.

The Chairman of Mangkolemba Town Council (MTC), Supong Longkumer congratulated the participants on completing the training. He encouraged them to ensure that the taste of their cakes reaches every corner of the area and to consider starting new business ventures.

The programme concluded with closing remarks from District Employment Officer (DEO), Mokokchung, T. Yimlikhumzuk who emphasized that the baking is a promising business opportunity. DEO Mokokchung thank all the individuals who has put in their efforts to make the training programme a success. He also extended his special thanks to the Mangkolemba Administration led by ADC Mangkolemba, Moakumzuk NCS and the MTC Counsellors led by the Chairman, Supong Longkumer.

This training initiative reflects the department's commitment to empowering rural women by equipping them with marketable skills that can support entrepreneurship and economic self- sufficiency.
