A one day State Level training and workshop on 7th Minor Irrigation Statistics (MIC), 2nd Census of Water Bodies and 1st Spring Census with reference Year 2022-23 sponsored by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Minor Irrigation (Statistics) Wing, Government of India and organized by the Department of Water Resources, Kohima was held at Chief Engineer Conference Hall, Water Resource Department, Kohima on 25th February 2025.

The Inaugural programme was chaired by the Chief Engineer and Joint Census Commissioner, WRD, Er. K. Hutoi Sema. He welcomed all officials from Districts and Block level who are designated as District Nodal Officers and Block Nodal Officers and Enumerators to work as a team for successful completion of the Census operation. He also appraised that the forth coming Census operation will be conducted completely on mobile based Apps developed by the NIC, New Delhi and NIH, Roorkee.

During the inaugural addressed, the Commissioner & Secretary, Department of Water Resources and Census Commissioner, Nagaland, Gregory Thejawelie, IAS exhorted the participants and the Training of Trainers (ToTs) to diligently and actively involved in the field operation to deliver credible data for sustainable planning of the State. He stressed upon the participants that data collection is vital for planning and formulation of schemes, for which data and information should be genuinely canvassed at field level.

Director of Economics & Statistics, Neidilhou Keditsu encouraged the officials to collect data at source in the Census Operation. He further said that through the conduct of Census & Surveys real time data could be arrived, and wished the ongoing Census a successful one.

During the technical session, SE & Nodal Officer, Er. Sobu Angami spoke on the topic Overview of the Censuses, while Khriesatuo Kerets, DDS spoke on Village Schedule & Ground Water Schedule of 7th MIC, and Er. Krotso Koza, EE spoke on Surface Water Schedule, MIC, Water Body Schedule & Spring. Limaasem Aier, UDA and Kashito Yeptho, LDA Cum CA administered the Mobile Apps, while Kinazulu IOS proposed the vote of thanks.
