A State-Wide Mega Job Fair 2026 was held on March 21, 2026, at the Integrated Business Hub & Innovation Centre (IBH&IC), Forest Colony, Dimapur, offering a wide range of employment opportunities across multiple sectors.
The job fair was organized by the Nagaland Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Mission (NSEDM) in collaboration with the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) Kohima, and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, aimed to connect job seekers with potential employers from domestic, national, and international markets.
Advisor to CM & Chairman IDAN, Abu Metha launched the NSEDM Portal at the inaugural program, followed by his address. During his address, he conveyed greetings from the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Dr. Neiphiu Rio and lauded the efforts of the organising team led by Under Secretary & Project Lead, NSEDM, IDAN, Meripeni Ngullie, stating that months of planning, outreach and coordination had made the job fair a reality, creating opportunities for hundreds and thousands of youth.
Addressing the participants, Metha congratulated them for their effort and initiative in attending the programme, stating that “showing up” itself was an important first step towards building a career. He encouraged candidates to be honest and genuine during interviews, emphasising that individuality and authenticity matter more than trying to impress.
Highlighting the importance of continuous learning, he said that in today’s world, knowledge is power, and information is readily accessible through technology. He urged youth to make productive use of digital tools to enhance their skills and remain competitive. Metha also noted that the first job may not always be a dream job but should be viewed as a stepping stone towards future success. He stressed that while talent and skills can open doors, it is character and integrity that ultimately determine long-term growth and advancement.
Speaking on employment opportunities, he mentioned that many participants were seeking jobs locally, regionally, nationally and even internationally, including placements in regions such as Europe, the Middle East and other parts of Asia. He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to creating such platforms to connect youth with employment opportunities.
Encouraging young people to work hard and aspire for a better life, Metha called on them to become positive ambassadors of Nagaland wherever they go. He said that the state must move beyond past narratives and instead showcase stories of success, excellence and achievement through its youth. He further urged participating companies to mentor and guide young employees, helping them grow professionally and personally.
The job fair commence at 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and covered a wide range of sectors including home support services, manufacturing, hospitality and aviation, construction, industrial and technical trades, healthcare and nursing, technology and innovation, IT and IT-enabled services, culinary, as well as sales and retail.
Organizers stated that the initiative seeks to provide a platform for job seekers to explore career opportunities, interact with recruiters, and gain exposure to diverse industries. The job witnessed participation from various companies and institutions, offering opportunities for both skilled and unskilled candidates.
While the State-wide Mega Job Fair is scheduled to be held for a one day, authorities have informed that applicants can register online at any time through the designated portal-https://nsedm.nagaland.gov/. Officials stated that the online registration system has been introduced to provide greater flexibility and convenience for job seekers. Through the portal applicants can submit their details, explore available opportunities, and stay updated on recruitment processes beyond the event day. More than 1000 applicants registered at the State wide Mega Job Fair 2026.
Representatives from ASPOREA, ITC, and ASMACS delivered brief addresses highlighting opportunities within their respective sectors for aspiring applicants.
Speaking at the event, the representatives emphasized the importance of skill development, professionalism, and adaptability in today’s competitive job market. Each organization provided insights into their sectoral roles and outlined the expectations from potential candidates. They highlighted opportunities in its operational domain, encouraging applicants to stay committed and proactive while pursuing career growth. Also, representatives spoke on the diverse employment avenues within the corporate sector, urging candidates to equip themselves with relevant skills and a strong work ethic. The speakers collectively encouraged participants to make the most of available opportunities and to continuously upgrade their knowledge and capabilities to meet industry demands.
