In connection with the National Emergency Preparation Exercise (NEPEx) on earthquake scenario scheduled to be conducted on 24th October 2024, a Table Top Exercise was held at DC's Conference Hall, Longleng on 22nd October 2024 under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Longleng, W. Manpai Phom, NCS.

Chairing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said through the 7th mock exercise in Nagaland, everyone must learn to be prepared at actual situations when earthquakes and other natural calamities happen. He urged all the Departments, wards and civil societies to take the exercise very seriously and get involved positively during the exercise.

DPA, DDMA Longleng, Vekuzo Lohe, urged all officials to actively participate during the mock exercise for awareness so as to equip ourselves with capabilities when actual disaster strikes. He also highlighted on the sequence of the Mock Exercise. 

He spoke on the structure of the Incident Respond System (IRS) comprising of responsible officer, Incident Commanders, Operation Section, Planning Section and Logistic Section and various unit Leads involved. Accordingly, he briefed on the involvement of all line Departments and their roles and responsibilities as per the IRS structure of the district. He added that four incident locations have been identified for the Mock Exercise.

All line departments and stake holders under Longleng district attended the Table Top Exercise.
