A three-day training programme for District Level Master Trainers on the implementation of the Holistic Progress Card (HPC) in the Foundational and Preparatory stages is being conducted at the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Kohima, from June 11 to 13, 2025.
The initiative has been undertaken under the guidance of Prof. Indrani Bhaduri, Head and CEO of PARAKH, NCERT. The training aims to equip key educational personnel from across the state with the knowledge and skills required to roll out the HPC framework in government schools.
Participants include personnel from SCERT, District Institutes of Educational Training (DIETs), Educational Block Resource Centre (EBRC) coordinators, and Trainers of Teachers (ToTs) from the School Education Department. Representatives from Samagra Shiksha and The Lighthouse Project – NECTAR are also taking part in the training. The sessions are being facilitated by expert resource persons from PARAKH, NCERT.
The trained master trainers will lead district-level mass teacher training programmes to ensure the effective implementation of HPC in Class 1 (Foundational Stage) and Class 3 (Preparatory Stage) across Nagaland in the current academic year. The initiative is part of the state’s broader vision, in collaboration with PARAKH, NCERT, to implement HPC across all government schools in a phased manner, extending to the Middle Stage in the subsequent academic year.
The HPC is a key component of the National Education Policy 2020, focusing on competency-based assessment and a more holistic approach to student progress.
