The Nagaland Education Project – The Lighthouse (NECTAR) is conducting training on the Annual Curriculum and Pedagogical Plan (ACPP) as part of the School Transformation Strategy for Trainers of Teachers (ToTs) and Professional Learning Communities (PLC) Subject Presidents and Mentors from 28th January to 31st January 2026 at the Administrative Training Institute, Kohima.
The four-day training focuses on the ACPP framework, templates, and implementation process for English, Mathematics, Social Science, and Science, to strengthen pedagogy and academic leadership at the Lighthouse School Complex (LSC) level. Among other things, the training will emphasise Learning Outcomes (LOs) and student competency through pedagogical improvements.
In the keynote address, Shashank Pratap Singh (IAS), Principal Director of DoSE and Project Director of NECTAR, stressed on the importance of developing a micro plan at the classroom level along with ACPP to cater to the unique & differential needs of each pupil. He also emphasized the need to devise plans for children with special needs (CwSN) so that they are not left out. He further stated that in line with National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, focus must be placed on learning outcomes through appropriate pedagogy.
The training is being attended by over 70 participants from all seventeen districts. It includes sessions on the ACPP Design Process, Quality Review, Implementation, Monitoring, and Cascade Plan. Following the state-level training, the participants will carry forward the lessons and insights to teachers in all the LSCs in seventeen districts in February.
The ACPP is a comprehensive guide that supports schools in designing, implementing, reviewing, and strengthening teaching and learning across the academic year. This is mandated under the School Quality Assessment and Assurance Framework (SQAAF) by the Ministry of Education through which the quality of all schools will be evaluated.
