The Closing Ceremony of the U-13 ASMITA Football League 2025–26 (Major League – East Zone) was held on 10th February 2026 at the Chümoukedima Football Stadium, successfully completing the grassroots football tournament under the ASMITA and Khelo India initiatives.
The ceremony was graced by Anthony Ngullie, IAS Secretary of Youth Resources & Sports Government of Nagaland attended the event as the Special Guest. Speaking at the event, Anthony highlighted the importance of initiatives like ASMITA under Khelo India in empowering young athletes, especially girls, through structured competitive platforms. He encouraged the participants to pursue sports with discipline, dedication and confidence, and reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment towards strengthening grassroots sports development.
The event also features Kick-off Match No. 10 and concluded with a Prize Distribution Ceremony, where the two qualified teams from Major League – East Zone, Assam and Mizoram.
The programme was chaired by Imlisunep, Joint Secretary, Nagaland Football Association (NFA) and the invocation was delivered by Awa Lorin, Youth Pastor, Rengma Baptist Church, Sovima. A special song was presented by Chemkula Khiungra, which was followed by a vote of thanks by Mevisanger Lemtur, Vice President, NFA.
