Union Finance Minister and Corporate Affairs, Government of India, Nirmala Sitharaman visited District Hospital Kiphire on 13th November 2025, and conducted ceremonial handing over of Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR), the initiatives of State Bank of India (SBI) to the hospital.

In her address, Sitharaman expressed her gratitude to the State government and district administration Kiphire for extending a warm welcome to her, and said that her visit to Nagaland was a blessing as she got another chance to see the beauty of Nagaland again.

She also mentioned that it took some time to plan, but it has given her the chance to visit the aspirational district of Kiphire, to witness the people's aspirations and implement various CSR projects in the district. Recalling her interactions with the state government and the lack of resources that Nagaland faces, she said that each time she visits Nagaland she makes sure substantial CSR is brought to the state of Nagaland.

She also thanked the SBI for volunteering and coming up with meaningful and critical medical equipment contributions to the District Hospital Kiphire (DHK) under CSR project. She said today’s medical challenges and requirements have increased, so having modern equipment is required for precision diagnostic treatment.

During the programme, Medical equipment’s for blood bank worth Rs, 5.81 lakhs; Medical equipment’s for hospital worth Rs. 59 lakhs; 5 nos of Bike Ambulance for Primary Health Centres of Kiphire district worth Rs.20 lakhs and showcasing of 5 multi-utility bike ambulance, were handed to the District Hospital Kiphire under the initiatives of the SBI under CSR project.

Earlier, the Union Finance Minister also Flagged-off the Bike Ambulance at District Hospital Kiphire. A brief review of District Hospital Kiphire was delivered by Dr. Watsutho Nyuthe, Medical Superintendent, Kiphire. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. R. Wapang Imchen, Chief Medical Officer, Kiphire and the programme was chaired by Dr. Mereninla Senlem Principal Director, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare Nagaland, Kohima. The Finance Minister was also accompanied by Minister, for Tourism and Higher Education, Nagaland, Imna Along and other dignitaries.

Honouring the visit of the Union Finance Minister, a Public programme will be held on 14th November 2025 at Public Ground Kiphire.
