Union Minister of State for Law & Justice and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Arjun Ram Meghwal, visited the construction site of the new Kohima High Court, Meriema, Kohima on 23rd October 2024. The visit aimed to assess the progress of the project and discuss the financial assistance required to complete the building.
Before his visit Meghwal met with the Chief Minister of Nagaland to address several key issues related to the High Court. He assured that the discussions were productive and that efforts are underway to resolve the pending matters.
“The meeting was very positive, and we had addressed all pending issues in detail,” said Meghwal. “I assure you that in the coming days, likely during the winter session of Parliament, we will hold a meeting with both the Secretary of Justice and the Secretary of Expenditure from the Finance Department to resolve the issue.”
The visit reflects the government’s commitment to complete the High Court project and also to address the legal needs of Nagaland.
