MLA & Advisor, Social Welfare Wangpang Konyak graced the inauguration of office building of District Programme Officer (ICDS) and Child Development Project Officer as a Special Guest on 14th January 2026 at Social Welfare Office Complex, Mon.
In his speech, the Advisor said that Mon Staffs is fortunate enough to have their own office building unlike other districts. He encouraged the officials and staff to carry out their duty with sincerity and urged the staff to make the best use of gadgets provided by the government and improve their efficiency. He also congratulated the Er. Talisunup Jamir, and his team for completing the building construction on stipulated time period (18 months).
Secretary Social Welfare, Limawabang Jamir, IAS, in his short speech congratulated Mon District, Social Welfare Office Staff for being one of the best performing district in the State and commended the hard work of the Anganwadi workers and Helpers. He also encouraged the people for Aadhaar enrolment in order to benefit from government schemes as most schemes utilize Aadhar as an ID proof.
Deputy Commissioner Mon, Wennyei Konyak, NCS, said that it was a proud moment for the District and thanked the Government of the day led by the Chief Minister. He encouraged the Officials and the Staff, to keep up the good work and strive to be the best. He further assured full cooperation from the District Administration to work for the welfare of the people.
Executive Engineer, Social Welfare, Er. Talisunup Jamir highlighted that the Total Project Cost for the construction of social welfare complex- construction of district programme officer & CDPO office building (including Retaining Wall, Security wall & CC compound pavement) was Rs.2,98,96000/- in his technical report.
Director Social Welfare, Tosheli Zhimomi chaired the programme. Rev. Yeangphong Konyak, District Chaplain pronounced the dedicatory prayer. Welcome address was delivered by DWO Mon, Atong Yanlem. Special Number was presented by Anganwadi Workers, Mon Project. Vote of Thanks was pronounced by H. laitak Konyak, CDPO Mon.
