Women Entrepreneurs Network Nagaland (WENN) conducted a press conference with the media house at Dimapur on 5th October, 2024.
The press conference was held to highlight on the upcoming WENN Bazar which is set to organize the 3rd edition of WENN Bazar under the theme ' Year of Business Governance ' from 11th- 13th October, 2024 at CTC Square, Chumoukedima. The bazar promises to unveil new developments and provide insights into their upcoming initiatives and efforts to enhance the business acumen of women entrepreneurs in Nagaland, creating an inclusive environment that fosters growth, innovation, and sustainability.
Women Entrepreneurs Network Nagaland (WENN) is a non-profit organization to give a platform for women entrepreneurs in Nagaland to network and create a resilient community and support system, collaborate with key stakeholders, and capacitate through information sharing, training, legal compliances, funding, and mentorship. WENN envisions to influence the entrepreneurial ecosystem to be women inclusive at the policy level and foster positive attitude towards women-led businesses in the society.
WENN was conceptualised in partnership with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit's (GIZ) Her&Now, Dhriti, and Investment Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), and launched in April 2022. It was formally registered as a Trust in May 2023 at Dimapur, Nagaland.
The WENN Bazaar 2023 witnessed 53 participants including entrepreneurs, MSMEs, banking and financial institutions. Entrepreneurs from Phek, Wokha, Mokokchung, Kohima, and Dimapur districts, representing a diverse range of sectors, including food & beverage, beauty & wellness, clothing, toy shops, home decor, arts, handicrafts, and vegetable produce. The event generated an overall sale of approx Rs. 18 lakh, reflecting the potential of economic contributions made by these women entrepreneurs.
The objectives of WENN Bazar 2024 is to empower women entrepreneurs, promote financial literacy, facilitate knowledge exchange, strengthen business networks, highlight local talent. Implementation strategy focus on market stalls, technical sessions, business governance, knowledge based/ capacity building sessions, marketing sessions, networking opportunities.
WENN Bazar expected outcomes is to increase sales and revenues for participating women entrepreneurs and stakeholders, enhanced brand recognition and market presence for local products, promotion of Nagaland's culture and heritage through indigenous products, empowerment of women entrepreneurs through financial independence and business growth. WENN invites women entrepreneurs to join and grow in the network.
