An Airgun Surrender Program was organised at Nitoi Village on 2nd Oct 2024, organised by Kiphire Forest Division & Wildlife Division under the theme - "wildlife conservation throughout coexistence."

The DFO in his speech said, Peaceful Coexistence with the Nature: Forest, Wildlife & Environment is the only solution for a better future of human being. He also opined that both Human & Wildlife needs to coexist together with minimum Human - Wildlife conflict, which is possible by individual action of each one of us.

According to the DFO, Wildlife Week is a yearly event celebrated in the first week of October. The main purpose of the program is to generate awareness among masses to save wildlife, since everyone have the collective responsibility to Protect Wildlife & Save Environment.

The Program was attended by DFO Kiphire, Rama Shankar Prasad, IFS, ADC Kiphire, Longdiba L Sangtam, Range Officer Kiphire, Aaron R Yimchunger, wherein, a total of twenty Airguns was surrendered by Nitoi Village youth. 

The program was organised on the occasion of on-going 'Wildlife Week 2024' being celebrated by the Department of Environment Forests & Climate Change, Govt. of Nagaland.
