Wokha District convened the District Planning and Development Board meeting on 26th September 2024 under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Wokha, Vineet Kumar, IAS. Advisor Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan who was also present in the meeting, emphasised on the advancement of Agriculture sector and challenged the Agri. and Allied departments to have the cohesiveness which he felt was the need of the hour. With Wokha district tagged as the Land of Plenty, the Advisor mooted for organizing Agri. Expo at Wokha as suggested by DC Wokha and entrusted the Agri. and Allied departments for working on it. Yanthan envisaged for convening a coordination meeting of Agri. and Allied department at least once a month.
In the meeting, Dy. Superintendent of Jail, Dr. Oben Yanthan flagged the need for attachment of a male pharmacist/ male nurse in addition to the visiting doctor at District Jail from the CMO/ District Hospital Wokha. Dr. Oben stressed on the health rights of the inmates and felt that their health well-being has to be taken care, citing that most of them have a history of drug abuse problem. Towards this, Advisor Mhathung mentioned the request as genuine and advised the official for preparing a proposal to be forwarded to the higher authority. CMO Wokha Dr. Zuben Kikon also assured for detailing medical personnel along with that visiting doctor.
To be aware of one’s health status, mandatory screening of Government employees (30 years and above) for Non communicable diseases was also deliberated where all necessary blood test and free medicines would be taken care by the CMO office. The House agreed for implementation of this programme from this financial year. On the agenda for up-gradation of Sungro EAC Circle, the House observed that Sungro has the potential for being upgraded to SDO (C) HQ. Accordingly, the House agreed to approve the proposal and to forward it to the concern authority. The house further deliberated on the registration of several societies and forwarded the proposal of Wokha District Sepaktakraw Association, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Alumni Association Chukitong, Impacther Nagaland to the Government for approval.
For smooth and effective traffic management, SDPO, Sangthing Khiam highlighted on the traffic management action Plan for Wokha district through a power point presentation.
Advisor Mhathung expressed gratefulness to the Police department for coming out with the Traffic action plan and felt the need for taking up the traffic congestion issue in a coordinated approach. DC Wokha also welcomed the traffic action plan and suggested for execution in a phase wise manner.
In the meeting, all concern was informed for filling up the forms for the on-going registration of General Household category through the Supply department. Power point presentation was given by the Agriculture and Horticulture departments. During the meeting, the Annual magazine of CMO Wokha was launched by Advisor, Mhathung Yanthan.
DC Wokha asked the HODs for attending the DPDB meeting regularly and also requested them for ensuring that all offices are functional. The meeting ended with a note of thanks from the chair.
