Workshop on job opportunities in Japan organized by the Department of Horticulture, Nagaland University and ARMS incorporation was held at Capital Convention Center, Kohima on 23rd April 2025.

Director Horticulture, Meyasashi delivering the welcome address at the inaugural session said, Japan offers a wide range of job opportunities, particularly in sectors like IT, Engineering, Agriculture and teaching English. The IT and tech industry in Japan is known for its high demand for skilled workers. With Japan's rich cultural heritage and diverse tourist attractions, there are opportunities in various hospitality sectors, he added.

Vice President ARMS incorporation, Shibata Nagatoshi in his speech said Japan requires manpower for the industries and there is a shortage of human resources due to the shrinking population of Japan. He added that due to increase in ageing population of Japan, there is a shortage of long term healthcare and Nursing Personnel.  Under the technical intern training program ARMS incorporation selects excellent candidate and send them to Japan. The three year program was officially approved by both the Japanese and Indian Government, and has already placed more than 350 students in Japan.

Linguistic Head of Department, Nagaland University, Prof. Pangersenla Walling in her address said two Memorandums of Understanding were signed between the State Government and Nagaland University (NU) and another between the ARMS incorporation and NU. These MoU marks the beginning of a three year collaborative partnership aim at fostering Educational and cultural exchange. She said the core objective is to position Nagaland as a centre for foreign language learning and offer students a boarder range of academic opportunities while simultaneously fostering youth employment both domestically and international. She mentioned that the world is full of opportunities and encouraged the youths to be ready by learning the skills and do it with dignity and determination.

The technical session will cover topics like overview of working in Japan, Presentation on Kochi and career opportunities, introduction to Agriculture and introduction to company.
