Awareness workshop on Special Pilot initiative & Registration Drive for establishments on Apprenticeship Portal under PM-National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (PM-NAPS) was held on 28th November 2025 at Town Council Hall, Mon with Deputy Commissioner & Chairman District Skill Committee, Mon, Wennyei Konyak gracing the occasion as special guest.

Konyak in his address said that without Skill, one cannot shine in their profession, and urged the participants to identify their skill. He mentioned that a time has come to skill and develop oneself. He urged them to find out what skill each one has to upgrade his or her profession.  He also mentioned that Konyaks being one of the largest populated districts in the state needs to realise and work harder to achieve their goals and aspirations. He encouraged the students to take Science stream after their ten standards

Encouraging them to take advantage of the skill workshop as an opportunity, he said it will help you in your career and extended his gratitude to the department for organising the programme.

Er. H. Alongse, Joint Director, DoESDE gave a PowerPoint presentation on the Employment scenario in Nagaland.  He said that Nagaland had the highest unemployment. He said skilling is important in every field because any company prefers short term training not the degree. He encouraged the students to join any training as an opportunity to help you to learn and build the skills for your career.

Presentation on PMNAPS and registration of students and NAP Portal was proposed and done by Pravin Yadav, State Coordinator, NSDC.

In his welcome address, Er. Nyaksham Phom said that the workshop marks an important step towards empowering youth with practical skills, employment opportunities and pathways to sustainable livelihood.
