The Office of the District Cultural Officer, Kiphire, under the department of Art & Culture, organized a one day workshop under the living morung project at Kiphire village on 17th February 2026 along with the villagers of Langkok and Longthonger village. The workshop was held emphasizing on traditional crafts and weaving, with Tsidongchem, Chairman Kiphire Village as the Special Guest.
The District Cultural Officer Kiphire, Moses Newmai in his speech sought the importance of embracing one's culture and identity irrespective of age, social status, divide or the advancement influenced by the western culture.
Head GB of Kiphire village, Tsalimong narrated the history of the village's migration and also stated the significance of a morung, and the importance of handicrafts and weaving in today's generation. The programme was chaired by Rebeca, LDA, while the welcome address was delivered by Vilila Pojar, ARO Kiphire.
Thsaopi Sangtam (Crafts) and Zuzila Sangtam (weaving) were the resource persons for the workshop.
