Zunheboto district stakeholders bid adieu to its outgoing Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Bhanudas Mali (IAS) in an honorary farewell programme held at Multi-Purpose Hall, Zunheboto on 2nd May.
In his farewell speech, the outgoing DC, Rahul Bhanudas Mali highlighted some key projects undertaken and ongoing works in the district during his stay in the district. While mentioning few he included, Chakabama-Zunheboto Highway, which will be named as the Chakhesang-Sumi Brotherhood Road, the Mokokchung to Zunheboto two-lane road project and the repair and maintenance of the Zunheboto to Aghunato Road.
Rahul Bhanudas also highlighted the peaceful conduct of three elections during his tenure as DC Zunheboto - the State General Election 2023, the Lok Sabha Election 2024 and the 2024 Urban Local Bodies Election, which he termed as a collective effort, which later on were acknowledged by higher ups as the most peaceful district in the state.
Commending the dedication and hard work of the people of Zunheboto, the outgoing DC described the Sumi community as hardworking and ever willing to work collectively with bravery and resilient, which reminded him that the small efforts he could put forward, and the achievements he possessed were all collective achievements, he asserted.
Several prominent individuals delivered farewell speeches, including Superintendent of Police Zunheboto, Kupe Kapfo; PA to DC, Vikheho Yeptho; District Planning Officer, David Sema; ADC Satakha, M.S. Thangpong and ADC (HQ) Japhet Woch representing the administrative officers.
Farewell speeches on behalf of Sumi Hoho and ZAPO were delivered by Kikheto Muru and Hekato Zhimo respectively. The programme also witnessed a special song, presented by Zunheboto Town Sumi Baptist Church (ZTSBC).
The farewell programme was chaired by Robhi Sangtam, SDO (C) Zunheboto, and a vote of thanks was delivered by SDO (C) Sukhalu Chishi and benediction by Pastor NCRC, Kughavi V. Chishi.
