Advisor School Education & SCERT, Dr. Kekhrie Yhome, held a consultative meeting at Meluri Sub-Division. The meeting took place on 3rd June 2023, at DBs Court ADC Complex, Meluri. The district administration, education officials, and CSOs attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Dr. Kekhrie Yhome expressed concerns about the low enrollment in government schools, despite the provision of free education with highly qualified teachers. He announced that every village would have its primary school. However, the establishment of middle schools and high schools would be based on enrollment numbers, and teacher allocation would be adjusted accordingly under the rationalization policy. Dr. Yhome also emphasized that rewards would be given to the best-performing schools.
Advisor N&RE and NSDMA, Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe, spoke about the crucial role and responsibilities of teachers. He emphasized the importance of sincerity, dedication, and punctuality in their duties. Additionally, he highlighted the necessity of community participation for the proper functioning and quality of educational institutions.
The participants in the meeting included EAC Lephory, Tsalimse Sangram, SDEO Meluri, Elvis Singson, and Principal of Government Higher Secondary School Meluri, Tiatemsu Aier. They discussed the challenges faced by almost all the schools under Meluri Sub-Division, particularly the shortage of science and math teachers.
