In a significant milestone for the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (AH&VS) in Nagaland, Advisor Kazheto Kinimi inaugurated the new Directorate building at Phezoucha, Kohima, on October 10, 2023.
During his address at the inaugural function, Advisor Kazheto Kinimi deemed it a red-letter day for the AH&VS Department and expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for prioritizing and ensuring the completion of the new Directorate building. He acknowledged the Chief Minister's Office for its unwavering support at all stages of the project.
Advisor Kinimi expressed hope that the new building would foster a positive work culture among officers and staff, emphasizing the need for result-oriented efforts. He encouraged everyone to work with renewed energy and motivation, ushering in a new era of excellence and performance.
Appreciating the engineering wing and the contractor, Advisor Kazheto Kinimi commended their efforts in completing the project with commendable workmanship. As part of the inaugural ceremony, he also released the 20th Livestock Census Report.
Director of AH&VS, Dr. Nsanthung Ezung, provided insights into the journey leading to the construction of the new Directorate building. He outlined the reasons behind the initiative, including the instability of the old building, its distant proximity to the New Secretariat Complex, and issues related to space congestion. The construction, initiated on May 18, 2013, concluded on May 29, 2021, with formal occupancy achieved on April 5, 2023.
Secretary of Nagaland Staff Selection Board, Henok Phom, expressed gratitude for the space allotted in the new building for the functioning of the NSSB office. He highlighted the importance of continued cooperation between the two offices in the future.
The inaugural program was chaired by Addl. Director & MD NSDCF, Dr. Khriekuolie Linyu, featuring a special song by Mengu Suokhrie. The dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Pastor Mhonchumo S Lotha of Kohima Lotha Baptist Church, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Addl. Director & MD NLDB, Dr. Achila Ao.
The Guest of Honour, Advisor Kazheto Kinimi, unveiled the commemorative plaque, accompanied by a host of other dignitaries and legislators.
