The Angami Gazetted Officers Krotho (AGOK) held its 39th Annual Conference at RCEMPA, Jotsoma on 11th February 2022 with Advisor, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire as the Special Guest.
Advisor, Dr. Kire appealed AGOK to help and work towards giving back to the community, and suggested that they should come up with a model similar to the District Planning & Development Board's Village Adoption Committee where, in each constituency a village is adopted and different departments collaborate and work together to help and assist in development activities. Dr. Kire raised the need for better collaboration and coordination amongst AGOK and also with the state legislative representatives as well in order to further help the community.
President, Angami Public Organisation, Razouvotuo Khroitsu addressing the conference said that the AGOK members are in a position to mirror/portray the best qualities of the Angamis in their workplace, and reminded them to be more concerned and helpful.
President AGOK, Dr. Kedozeto Punyii in his presidential address informed that the association was started in the year 1983 with K. K. Angami as its first President. There are around 1,500 Angami Gazetted Officers at present. The highest number of Grade A and Grade B officers are in the School Education Department followed by Health & Family Welfare, Higher Education and Nagaland Civil Secretariat, respectively.
General Secretary, AGOK, Megolhu Dolie presented a report on the construction of AGOK Badze Multi-Utility Centre at Meriema, Kohima which is being constructed following the decision by AGOK for the State capital to have a high standard multi utility centre that can serve the government and NGOs or private citizens, with 800 seating capacity, guests rooms, mini halls for smaller meetings, office rooms, etc. The construction began in the year 2017.
Advisor, Election and Technical Education, Medo Yhokha, MLA, Khriehu Liezietsu, MLA, Keneizhakho Nakhro, and representatives from various Angami organisations and unions were also present at the conference.
