Startup Nagaland under the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland, has successfully organised the Agripreneur and Green Startup Connect 2025 on 9th September 2025 at Hotel Acacia, Dimapur. The event was aimed to bridge the gap between green-focused startups, agripreneurs and funding opportunities in India’s evolving startup ecosystem.

With the theme “Green Fund Access: From Grant to Scale,” the programme focused on  empowering agripreneurs and green startups in Nagaland by providing insights on the schemes, grants and funding channels available in the ecosystem.

Moderated by Associate Director (Entrepreneurship), YouthNet Incubation Centre, Neikepekho Shosahie, the event brought together over 50 participants including entrepreneurs, farmers, NGOs and officials. Opening remarks was delivered by Assistant Director, Department of Industries & Commerce, Ikheshe Kahoto,  who emphasized the state’s push for green and inclusive entrepreneurship.

Key highlights included a session on navigating funding ecosystems by Senior Scientist, Guwahati Biotech Park, Dr. Bula Choudhury; the introduction of the GAP Fund (Grant for  Agroecological Programme) by Senior Manager, Access Development  Services, Sheena Kapoor; and a practical session on agroecology and concept note preparation by State Project Manager - North East, Access Development Services, Syed Mufti Alam Rahman,. The department reaffirmed its commitment to building Nagaland’s green startup ecosystem through enhanced resource access, targeted schemes and capacity-building initiatives like the GAP Fund
