The Sumi Naga festival 'Ahuna', Post Harvest Festival cum Mini Hornbill began at the Local Ground Zunheboto on 12th November 2022 with Former president Sumi Hoho Dr. Hokishe Yeputhomi as the 'Ahuna Papu'.
The Fest, which is being organized by Sumi Hoho in collaboration with District Administration, is a three-day event that will be honored by Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, Yanthungo Patton as the Festival special guest, and his colleagues, Advisor, Food and Civil Supplies, LMCP & Taxes, Pukhayi Sümi, Advisor, Tourism, Art & Culture, H Khehovi Yeputhomi, and MLA Er. Picto Shohe.
Hokishe Yeputhomi, while addressing the gathering, spoke on the emergence of Ahuna, as a festival and its significance and also added that the younger generation should definitely be made aware of the importance of our tradition and culture and therefore appreciated the cultural troops, especially to young students from Bloomfield school and school's proprietor for encouraging traditional activities in its institution.
The first day of the festival was marked by various indigenous competitions, displays, and presentations.
The programme would further proceed to the second day, with the theme "Sumi Unity Prayer Programme" which will be held at Sumi Baptist Church Zunheboto" and the last day, which will be on the 14th is the main Ahuna Celebration Event one (1) and followed by Extravaganza Night featuring various artists from Nagaland with Advisor, School Education & SCERT, K Tokugha Sukhalu as the special guest.
