I extend warm Ahuna greetings to the people of Nagaland specially to mySumi brothers and sisters. The beautiful festival is a significant part of ourrich cultural heritage. 

 

Ahuna is celebrated in purity of body and mind, and in gratitude for abountiful harvest.  I am hopeful that the festive spirit of oneness andbonding would restore our faith and usher us towards peace and progress.

 

This festival should make the younger generation more awareof the Sumi’s

ancient rich history, philosophy of life and culture, and to foster friendship and unity among the community.

 

I urge the Sumi community to continue demonstrating their exemplary leadership in guiding the people of Nagaland to overcome the situation we

are facing today.

 

I also appeal to the people to celebrate this beautiful festival observing all Covid-19 protocols.

This festival signifies victory of light over darkness, good over evil, truth over falsehood and knowledge over ignorance.

 

Cleaning and decorating homes and office premises with colours mark the celebrations. It gives an opportunity for the people to spend time together and foster good relationships in the family, work place and society.

 

It is extremely important that we celebrate the “Festival of Lights”observing all Covid-19 protocols this time.
