He said that Ahuna is not only to feast the first meal of rice drawn from the season's harvest that is cooked in bamboo segments but it is an occasion when one asks for forgiveness and reconciles with one another, especially with uncles and aunties if there was any dispute or differences. He lamented that along with the fast-changing world, traditional and cultural values are on the verge of extinction and said that younger generations have to preserve the traditional values and practices of our forefathers in sincerity and with reverence.
Principal Director, of Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Vikato Kinimi who also spoke highlighted the present scenario and encouraged the youths to be more sincere and dedicated in their studies to achieve one's goals.
The day-long programme includes folksong, special songs, and an Ahuna feast.
