A meeting was held in connection with ‘Amrit Kalash Yatras’ in continuation with Meri Maati Mera Desh' campaign at DPDB’s conference hall on 19th September 2023. 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' campaign is being implemented across the country, including in Nagaland from August 2023.

As per the instructions of the Government of India, the campaign envisages collecting mitti/soil or rice from each house in every village and Ward in the urban areas and taking Panch Pran Pledge during the collection, bringing the collected soil and rice in pots (Amrit Kalash) to the Blocks and towns/cities, and organizing programmes wherein the soil /rice brought from all the households will be poured and mixed into bigger pots (Amrit Kalash).

In the meeting it was deliberated that the programmes in the villages and the Wards are to be held between 1st - 30th September 2023, at the block level and urban centres between 1st - 13th October 2023. The State level programme will be held between 22nd – 27th October 2023, and the National Level programme at Kartavya Path, New Delhi during 28th – 30th October 2023.

The respective BDO will be the nodal officer for coordinating with each of the Village

Council and in case of towns/cities (ULBs), the respective Administrators will be the nodal officer for coordinating with the Wards.

It was also mentioned that in the second part of the programme, from 1st -13th October 2023, youth volunteers and others will bring the collected soil and rice in pots (Amrit Kalash) from villages to the block headquarter. There a programme will be organized wherein soil and rice will be poured in a larger pot (Amrit Kalash). During mixing of soil, a festive environment

may be created. There will also be felicitation of Bravehearts and in their honour. Cultural programmes will be organized with active involvement of volunteers of NSS, NYKS, NCC, Hindustan/ Bharat Scouts & Guides, Anganwadi workers and other youth volunteers with special emphasis on women Participation. Similar programmes will also be organized for the soil and rice collected from the households of the urban areas at all the district headquarter towns. This part of the programme will be planned and carried out by the Department of Youth Resources and Sports through their district officers in coordination with the respective Deputy Commissioners.
