In connection with the ongoing Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls, Agriculture Production Commissioner, Y. Kikheto Sema IAS, who is the Electoral Roll Observer for Mon and Longleng visited Mon on 14thDecember 2020.

Speaking at the meeting chaired by Thavaseelan k IAS, Deputy Commissioner Mon and attended by ERO, AEROs, Administrative Officers, Political Parties the Electoral Roll Observer said that the basis of democracy lies in elections and citizens should celebrate elections as it keeps the spirit of democracy alive.

He urged the Officers and Political Parties representative to sensitize people about the ethical approach during enrolment and electioneering processes so that the masses do not leave the responsibilities to the election machinery alone. Incorporating topics of ethical participation in election in the syllabus of Sunday Schools by Churches and Elementary Schools will have huge impact, he said. There should not be huge rush for enrolments only during election years, said the ER Observer while expressing satisfaction on the performance of the election officials. 

The ER Observer accompanied by District officials also visited polling stations under 43- Tapi and 46- Mon Town Assembly Constituencies.
