"Asmita Women's League" formerly known as "Khelo India Women's League" was held at Government Higher Secondary School Ground, Dimapur on 18th of September 2023. ASMITA stands for- Achieving Sports Milestone by inspiring Women Through Action. The women's league is an initiative of Sports Authority of India which is under Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. The main objective of the initiative is to foster gender equality and nurture the vibrant engagement of women in the realm of sports."

The Athletics Federation of India is organizing Track & Field and Road events in 25 cities across India from 17-20 September 2023, in which Dimapur was selected and entrusted to host the Road event.

The Nagaland Athletics organised the road race events for female category -- 3km race for U-16 Giris and 5km for women which was flagged off from Govt. Hr. Sec. School Ground, Dimapur.

118 participants took part in the race. In the under 16 category, the first prize was bagged by Supei S, second by Kevilenuo Kerhuo and third by Mehrin Beck. In the women’s category, the first prize was bagged by Tsuchoi T, second by Songmo P and third by Peiheitei Lie.
