ATMA Ghathashi block conducted three demonstration programs at Winter Crop Farm School, Pughoboto on 8th February 2021.
Planting, growing and harvesting of Peas and Nursery bed (raised bed) and preparation of tomato was demonstrated by the resource person Kaboli Wotsa, ATM. Demonstration on Bio-pesticide preparation was conducted by Kerilhoulie Rulu, ATM as the resource person who demonstrated the use of Neem leaves, garlic and aloe vera in its preparation. The use of chillies and ash as repellents in the field was also advised.
The program concluded with a group interaction among the Farm School Teacher, Livi, Farmer’s friends, progressive farmers and ATMA staffs followed by distribution of seeds. A total of 20 participants attended the program.
Demonstration on preparation of vermi-composting and cultural/indigenous weed control was conducted at Integrated Farm School, Lazami on 9th Feb, 2021 with John Belho, ATM as the resource person. Emphasis was laid on organic practices and sustainable use of resources. Demonstration on Organic Production Practices of King Chilli/green chilli was also conducted by the resource person Wellson Shitio, BTM. Importance on the layout and plant spacing was highlighted and demonstrated on a demo plot. The Farm school teacher Botoshe also supplemented on his practises at the farm and experiences as a progressive farmer. The program concluded with a group interaction and distribution of seeds among the farmers.
