Department of School Education, Nagaland Education Project (NEP) - the Lighthouse (NECTAR) Project Management Unit (PMU) led by Principal Director (DSE) & Project Director, NEP-the Lighthouse (NECTAR), Shanavas C, IAS, conducted a District Level Awareness programme on NEP- NECTAR at the Conference Hall, Office of Deputy Commissioner, Mon on 11th November 2021.

Shanavas while highlighting the NEP's aims, objectives and project components stated that NEP - The Lighthouse - Nagaland Enhancing Classroom Teaching and Resources (NECTAR) aims to improve and enhance quality and learning outcomes of Government Schools in Nagaland. 

He added that it will be the first ever World Bank financed Education Project in the Northeast Region of India to be directly implemented by a State Government i.e., Department of School Education, Government of Nagaland.

State Project Coordinator, Visato Koso, stressed on the impact and importance of community ownership, investment and collective management. 

The programme was chaired by SIS Wakching, Minching while DEO in-charge Mon gave the concluding remarks. 

The programme was attended by DC Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS, other administrative officers, officials from police and other departments and representatives from various NGOs and civil societies.
