The aegis of district administration of Peren in Tening Sub- Division, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) cum Chairperson of SDTF on COVID-19, Rhosietho Nguori organised Banking at Doorsteps, the first phase kicked off in Old Nzau and Ntuma village on 20th April, 2020.

The purpose for doorstep banking is to serve the public with friendly service and to avoid overcrowding in the bank and ensure villagers stay safe at home during the time of pandemic of COVID-19 in the world.

While dispensing cash in the midst of lockdown poor connectivity in those villages was the big challenge. Cash transfer was done to 30 beneficiaries and further centralised transfer was facilitated through Village Councils to 100 beneficiaries.

The team consisting Extra Assistant Commissioner, Tumben P. Tsanglao, Branch Manager, Ekomo Humtsoe and CSP, William of SBI Tening along with ADC staff.
