BASIC FIRE SAFETY AWARENESS HELD AT KIPHIRE

As part of the Nagaland Fire & Emergency Services, Kiphire Fire & Emergency conducted an awareness programme on 20th June 2022 at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall, Kiphire.

During the programme, SI, Tsarose Sangtam highlighted the fire prevention & protection system. Some of the points highlighted and discussed in the programme were: 

1. General exit requirements
2. Arrangement of exits
3. Number of exits
4. Pressurization of escape routes
5. Refuge area
6. Fire lifts/ fire tower.

Sangtam also urged that while constructing a building, safety measures should be given to save lives and properties.

SI, Kevikietuo Kire also explained and elaborated on classes of fire and how to save oneself from fire. Tejongol Sophie shared about forest fire and being safe from fire, especially during the burning of forests and fields.

Later, a hands-on demonstration of rescue technique, fire extinguisher, and LPG cylinder was demonstrated by F Andes. A vote of thanks was delivered by F/ M Kikokhol Tetso.

In the 1st Session- the awareness was given to the staff of banks and all Government departments, followed by the 2nd Session which was held for schools, colleges, hospitals, and various institutions.
