A two-day capacity-building training on service and accounts matters for officers and staff of the Water Resources Department (WRD) was held at the Conference Hall of the Chief Engineer Office, WRD, Kohima on 15th September 2022.
Under Secretary, Department of Economics & Statistics, Andreas Ezung, and Retired Senior Accounts Officer, Treasuries & Accounts Department, Khinyi Woch were the resource persons for the training. Andreas Ezung has vast experience in the teaching profession, he has been influential in conducting training in ATI as a faculty member on service matters, to government servants, NCS probationers, and staff of district offices, and resource person, Khinyi Woch has vast experience and knowledge in account matters.
Superintending Engineer, WRD, Er. K. Hutoi Sema addressing the trainees stated that the training is being conducted to enhance the knowledge and skills of the employees and to provide information and instructions on how to better perform their tasks. Highlighting the importance of service and account matters for the functioning of the office, he appealed to the staff and officers of the department to clarify their doubts and learn through the opportunity provided.
Executive Engineer, Er. Wapangnaro Imchen, who chaired the programme informed that the Department has been conducting the training for the past three years which had been very successful in imparting knowledge to many officers and staff.
The training will be done on matters such as Government Servant Conduct Rule 1968, filing system, noting and drafting, Disciplinary and Appeal Rules 1967, maintenance of service book, personal file, APAR, pay and allowances, seniority, and promotion, budgeting management, auditing of government accounts, etc.
