Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, Ajit Kumar Ranjan IAS, inaugurated the Kiphire Town Council's (KTC) bailing machine unit and commissioned a new dumper and bolero pick-up on 12th December 2020 at old NST Kiphire.
In his inaugural address, the DC emphasised that the bailing unit is for the benefit of the public and encouraged them to make optimal use of the facility. He also requested the civil and church leaders alike to help generate awareness regarding segregation of waste at the household level itself and safe disposal of wastes.
Dedicatory prayer was offered by president USBLA pastor Alison. He also lauded the efforts of the KTC and District Administration and reiterated that it is indeed a step towards not only cleaner environment but has scope of local job generation and assured complete cooperation towards this efforts.
While the single use of plastic ban is in place, the safe disposal of other forms of plastic was a point of concern. The KTC has therefore launched the "Cash for trash Scheme" where the public are encouraged to sell their plastics every Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm at Old NST Kiphire.
