The event was held at Ahthibung Town Hall, Peren on 26th July 2022.

Advisor of Water Resources, Namri Nchang acknowledged the Ministry of Power for coming up with such an innovative idea to introduce power supply all across the country. Without active participation nothing can be done, therefore, he called upon the people to cooperate and involve themselves to develop society. 

While speaking at the inauguration programme of 33/11kV, 2.5 MVA Sub-Station, Namri said it was a historic and red letter day, particularly for the people of Ahthibung Sub-division and with this inauguration, the Ahthibung area will have a much-reduced interruption of power supply because faults on the transmission line beyond Ahthibung will be taken care by this sub-station. 

Stating that the Govt. has provided modern public property for these areas, hence, it is the responsibility of the public to utilize it to its optimum by extending support and cooperation to the Department.

Er. John Zeliang, CGM, NEEPCO Limited, and State Nodal Officer for Nagaland said the event aimed to educate & sensitize the general public on the importance of power as well as to highlight the key achievements of the Ministry of Power through the screening of short films, Nukkad Natak and Cultural performances.

Deputy Commissioner Peren, Vineet Kumar, IAS stressed on judicious use of power. He also encouraged the public to coordinate and support the department to experience a better power facility.

The programme was chaired by SDO (E) Peren, Er. Kidosap, while vote of thanks was proposed by Vice-Chairman, Adhoc Town Committee, Letgin Singson.
