Grandmaster Ankit Rajpara, reached Dimapur Airport Sunday afternoon on 10th July 2022 with the Chess Olympiad Torch.

Mention may be made that the 44th edition of the Chess Olympiad has been awarded by the World Chess Federation (FIDE) to the All India Chess Federation (AICF) scheduled to be held at Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu from 28th July to 10th August 2022. To mark the event being held in India, the FIDE has instituted the Chess Olympiad Torch Rally covering 75 iconic locations of the country as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.
