The State Level Sanctioning Committee of the Agri & Allied Departments for the year 2021-2022, was held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Nagaland J. Alam, IAS. The meeting was held in the Secretariat Conference hall on 23rd September 2021 and was attended by all the AHODs, HODs and Missions of Agri & Allied Departments. Major convergence schemes of the Agri & Allied Department- RKVY, PMKSY, MOVCD-NER and other CSS schemes namely NFSM, ATMA, NMSA, SMAM, NMEO etc were taken up by the SLSC for recommendation and approval. The Chairman of the SLSC stated that more than 60% of the total population depends on Agriculture and Allied sectors and appreciated the Agri & Allied Departments for performing a crucial role for Nagaland during the times of Covid-19 pandemic coupled with deficit rain fall amounting to drought and Fall Armyworm pest destroying the standing crops. He congratulated the officials of the Agri & Allied Department for their positive performances during these hard times and called for close coordination amongst the Agri & allied family and urged the Departments to utilize the funds for the benefit of the farming community. During the meeting, the Agriculture Production Commissioner, Nagaland and the Vice Chairman of SLSC Y. KikhetoSema, IAS, encouraged the members to provide extraordinary service to the needy people and urged the district officers to deliver the goods to the people. He stated that the State is going through a double pandemic of Covid-19 and drought in the farmer’s field and called upon the Agri & Allied Department to come out of isolation and work together for the benefit of the farmers and progress of the State, as “I” stand for illness and “We” stands for wellness.
