Chumoukedima District held its first monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting after the bifurcation of the district at DC's Conference Hall, Chumoukedima on 7th June 2022.

Welcoming all the members, Chairman DPDB Chumoukedima, Advisor for Sericulture, Excise, and Minority Affairs, Zhaleo Rio welcomed all the members to the first DPDB meeting of the new district and expressed satisfaction over the positive attendance of the members. He urged the members for rendering their cooperation and active participation for the betterment of the district and the welfare of the citizens.

The House under the chairmanship of Chairman DPDB and DPDB Vice Chairman, DC Chumoukedima Abhinav Shivam, IAS, deliberated on various agendas. The house discussed the establishment of degree college by Chakhroma Students’ Union; formation of District Football Association Chumoukedima; registration of New Capstone School, Thilixu Village; up-gradation of Tuyitu Foundation, Diphupar Village; JNV school at Piphema, where after thorough discussion, it decided to send a proposal to the Government.

The meeting also approved the registration of Outset Craft Society Diphupar 'A' Village and Tuyitu Society Diphupar Village. While Nagaland Development Board located at Tenyiphe-II and Gracious Life Foundation 4th Mile Dimapur were evaluated and forwarded for further consideration during the next DPDB meeting.

Further, the identification of land for a public park at Chumoukedima town was also discussed, and for which the House entrusted the DLRSO to look into the modalities for earmarking the land. The members also decided to send a proposal to the Government for fund allocation for the development of the park The house also approved LADP 2022-2023 Schemes for 5-Ghaspani -II AC.

The DC directed all the departments for preparing a vision document/plan for the new district of Chumoukedima in the next few months. He informed of the declaration & adoption of one Government school by the administration and appealed to all departments for rendering their support and to follow suit. Dubbing the day "historic," Shivam thanked the members for attending the meeting and requested them to share their views and problems for an effective and positive outcome in the next meeting.

A PowerPoint presentation was presented by a team of Doctors from CIHSR for blood donation. Showing their gesture of gratefulness to the Government over the creation of the Chumoukedima district, a seven-member women SHG by the name of Likya Self Help based at 4th-mile Diphupar sponsored and served lunch to all the members after the meeting.
