Minister for Transport, Civil Aviation and Land Resources, P. Paiwang Konyak Inaugurated Civil Helipad at Wokha on 14th August 2021 in the presence of MLA, Dr. ChumbenMurry.
In his address Konyak highlighted that till 2018, flying hours of Nagaland chopper service was only 400 hours, and after meeting with the then Home Minister Rajnath Singh at New Delhi the State (Nagaland) flying Hours has now being extended to 1200 hours and the State is operating service with two with two helicopters of twin engine facility.
He also highlighted that the Centre has allotted 90 core projects for fixing-wing aircraft with priority at every district headquarters. He urged the public to make utilize of the opportunity and also made an appeal to the public to contribute more land for the overall development.
Secretary, Transport Department, Government of Nagaland, acknowledged the concern department and the Minister for having special concern and attention for the Wokha Citizen. He also gave brief highlights on the project details and said that Nagaland has now 12 helipads with 9 operational and 3 under construction.
MLA, Wokha, Dr.Chumben Murry, made a remark that in-spite of the many hardships, challenges and differences the land acquisition process for the civil helipad at Wokha, has now become reality and expressed contentment and acknowledges the Minister for having special attention towards the welfare of the Wokha citizens.
Deputy Commissioner, Wokha who also present during the occasion acknowledged the presence of Minister of taking interest and concern by inaugurating the Civil helipad. He also urged the public for co-operation and maintenance of the helipad.
Lotha Hoho, Chairman Er. Mhondamo Ovung expressed his gratitude towards the Minister and also submitted two point memorandum to the minister.
The Minister acknowledged the memorandum submitted and assured all further developments made through proper channel.
