Along with the rest of the districts in the state of Nagaland, the state capital Kohima took part in the Mega Cleanliness Drive, "Swachhata Pakwada- Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS)" on 30th September 2023.

La. Ganesan, The Governor of Nagaland launched the One Hour Shramdaan for Swachhata Nagaland at Raj Bhavan junction where Officials from Raj Bhavan, District Administration and Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) led by Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Shanavas C IAS and KMC Administrator Lanusenla L. Peseyie joined the Swachhata activities on ground.

Keeping in line with the directives from the state government, the cleanliness drive was carried out in all the wards/ Colonies and business establishments under the supervision of Kohima Municipal Council.

The ward Panchayats, Sector Sanitation Committee, security personnel, school students and the general public participated in the cleanliness drive.
