A meeting with line departments/ sectoral departments to discuss the preparation for the celebration of Hornbill Festival 2023 was held at Bamboo Heritage Hall, Kisama on 24th November 2023.
Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio expressed his happiness on the work progress for the ensuing Hornbill Festival 2023. He informed that many guests, including officials from other countries, will be attending the Festival. He urged all concerned to sincerely look into various problems and issues for the success of the Festival.
Rio also highlighted on the importance of cleanliness and called upon the gathering to create awareness on it. He asked the people to help and cater to the needs of the tourists for them to have a pleasant stay and take away good memories of Nagaland. He also called upon the business community to sale quality products at a competitive price.
The Chief Minister appreciated the ENPO for resolving to participate in the upcoming Hornbill Festival. He acknowledged the progress made over the years in celebrating the Hornbill Festival and hoped for more success as the 25th edition of the Festival will be celebrated in 2024. He also hoped that this year's edition will be celebrated in a grand manner. During the day, the Chief Minister also inspected and took stock of the work progress and preparedness at Kisama.
Minister for Tourism, Temjen Imna Along speaking at the programme appreciated Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio for envisioning the Hornbill Festival and bringing all the tribes together to showcase their rich culture and traditions, and also providing a platform to the local entrepreneurs. He also appreciated the line departments for their effort to make the Festival a success and asked them to continue the good work.
Chief Secretary, J Alam, IAS highlighted the progress of the works carried out by concerned departments. He stated that with the participation of all the tribes, the Festival will be celebrated in a grand manner. Alam called upon everyone to showcase the State in the best light. He also assured that all the concerned departments are working hard to the best of their ability.
The line departments such as Tourism, Art & Culture, Agri & Allied Departments etc. highlighted the progress and activities to be taken up by the respective departments. Vote of thanks was proposed by Secretary, Tourism.
