The newly constructed Deputy Commissioner Office Complex, Mokokchung, was inaugurated by the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio today 29th April 2022.
The Chief Minister, in his speech maintained that the design and workmanship of the new DC office, Mokokchung was up to the mark which was made possible through join efforts. Acknowledging the generous gesture of the land owner for their contribution in donating the land, the CM said unlike other parts of the country, in Nagaland, land and its resources belong to the people, therefore, land owners should give land to the government for development.
Rio said, in Nagaland most of the government building which were constructed right after the attainment of statehood are old which needs to be replaced. He said when the time comes, other districts should also do proper architect design building like the one which is being inaugurated. He also said that the Administration and Police departments are two of the most important departments. He therefore, urged the two departments to build good relationship.
The Chief Minister said, the first duty of the district administration is to keep and maintain good relationship with the people so that the administration becomes smooth. He also urged the people for their support and co-operation with the district administration for all-round development saying that in the absence of the citizens’ support, administration alone cannot function.
Short speeches were delivered by Minister, Rural Development, Metsubo Jamir; Advisor, CAWD & NSDMA, Kazheto Kinimi; Commissioner, Nagaland, Rovilatuo Mor and Kichu Clan, Mokokchung Village, on behalf of land owners.
The programme was chaired by DC Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh, IAS and vote of thanks was proposed by EAC (HQ), Imtinungla Longkumer. Dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Rev. Temsuwati Kichu, Associate Pastor MTBA.
Dignitaries including Minister PWD (Housing & Mechanical), Tongpang Ozukum; Advisor, Industries & Commerce and NIDC, Imnatiba; Advisor, Youth Resources & Sports, Er. Zale Neikha and S.P. Mokokchung attended the programme.
