Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio inaugurated Norman Putsure College, Chumukedima on 29th June 2022.

Speaking on the occasion he said Late Norman Putsure was a man of vision, taking challenges positively, full of life, and a real team leader. Rio said his belief and trust in the innate potential of the youth and how to harness these potentials into positive outcomes was always a hallmark in his approach to life. He also mentioned that  Putsure was his childhood friend, a good family friend, grew up together as neighbors, studied in the same college in Darjeeling and Norman was his best man on his wedding day. "Later, I entered politics while he was inducted into the government service and we continue to serve our people in a different capacity," Rio said.

The Norman Putsure College aims to inspire the generations to come, to equip them to face a brighter tomorrow, an institution based on Christian principles while providing a holistic approach to every student that walks into this college is truly appreciated, he said.

He also mentioned that Nagaland as per the annual Period Labour Force Servey (PLFS) for the 2020-21 report, has the highest unemployment rate in the country. It is a serious concern that avenues of employment in the government are limited. Therefore, we have to venture out into other fields as well he stated.

He congratulated the family of Late Norman Putsure for investing in a very important sector which is Human Resources.

Managing Director, NPC, Seneinuo Putsure, while giving an introduction to the college, dedicated the college to her father- late. Norman Putsure, and added that the college is to keep his legacy alive. She aims at running the college with fun and excitement and the college will always emphasize nurturing the talents.

Earlier, the program was invoked by Pastor Diezevilhou Nagi, Baptist Church Sovima followed by the unveiling of the Monolith. Special no. was presented by Shofar Music Academy.
