In view of the upcoming General Election to the Lok Sabha, 2024, the Election Commission of India organized a conference-cum-retreat of the Chief Electoral Officers from 2nd April to 4th April 2023 at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie (Uttarakhand). The main objectives of the conference were to initiate preparation for the General Elections to the House of the People in 2024, to review the organizational structure of the CEO Offices and align them with various verticals of the election process, and to set up a common minimum agenda and goals for each functional vertical of the election process. Altogether Chief Electoral Officers and officers of thirty-four (34) States and Union Territories participated in the conference.
