Urban Development Department held a consultative meeting with the Dimapur-based civil societies and stakeholders at Tourist Lodge on 25 November 2022 in regards to Nagaland Urban Infrastructure Development Project (NUIDP) funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB).

It may be mentioned that on April 2022, the Indian Government and Asian Development Bank signed a two million dollar, Project Readiness Financing (PRF) for the infra-development of 16 district headquarters in the state.

While addressing the gathering Director Urban Development Chenithung Lotha highlighted various challenges faced in the urban centers, especially in Dimapur District. 

Issues such as Roads, sewerage & sanitation, water supply, solid waste management, and urban flood management were deliberated at the meeting.

Short speeches were also delivered by Kahuto Sema Retd. Chief Engg, PWD Technical coordinator project design and management consultant, Bimal Kumar Jha. Municipal Reforms/ institutional governance expert, Tsenthungo Nyamo president Dimapur Urban Council Chairman Federation (DUCCF), Duoneinuo Kire President Naga Woman Hoho Dimapur (NWHD) and Administrator DMC, W Manpai Phom.
