Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur Rajesh Soundararajan lauded the support and cooperation rendered by civil societies, NGOs, churches and the DTF and sought for their continued support to fight the 2nd wave pandemic with collective effort. Addressing the Dimapur District Task Force meeting on 21st April 2021, Rajesh said," any restrictions will definitely be inconvenient but in the overall public interest, all have to bear the little inconveniences to avoid total lockdown scenario.

Commissioner of Police, Dimapur Rothihu Tetseo, urged upon everyone to take responsibility for successful implementation of restrictions.

With the rise in the number of Covid cases, the Covid Care Center at Chumukedima has been activated, informed CMO Dimapur, Dr. Mereninla during the Dimapur District Task Force meeting. She also said that contact tracing team has been carrying out random testing in the market places at various locations in Dimapur. Observing that many returnees do not report to the appropriate authority on arrival, CMO Dimapur impressed upon the DTF members for taking strong active measures to ensure that Returnees report to CMO office or the DTF as per Government directive.

Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Dimapur, informed that unlike previous time, out of 100 beds, 50 beds are dedicated for COVID cases and the remaining 50 beds are dedicated for non Covid cases. He also informed that the hospital has enough oxygen cylinders and lifesaving medicines. Presently 14 Covid patients are admitted in the District hospital out of which one patient has been discharged on request, he said.

District Immunization officer, Dr. Rebecca while highlighting on the Covid vaccination status of Dimapur District, informed that as on 20th April 2021, a total of 35,731 beneficiaries have been registered, total of 46,787 doses administered in session sites where 598 sessions has been conducted. She further observed an increase of beneficiaries turning up in the Covid vaccination centers informing that 2,722 beneficiaries turned up yesterday. Dr. Rebecca informed that presently 4,790 doses are available in the district and for which session sites would be conducted only till 22nd April. We are in constant touch with the state so that the district don't fall short of vaccines, she maintained.
