With the purpose to make citizens aware about the importance and achievements of covid vaccinations by our country, Field Outreach Bureau, Tuensang Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India organised an outreach programme on "India’s journey to 100 crore covid vaccination achievements" at Conference Hall, Navinn Hotel, Tuensang on 12th November 2021.
Addressing the program as the Resource person Dr. Zerilla (Doctor of Civil Hospital, Tuensang) said that the country started its vaccination drive on January 16, healthcare workers and other frontline workers were added as intended beneficiaries in February. She also said that India has crossed the landmark of vaccinating 100 crore individuals, becoming the second country after China to reach the milestone. A person needs to be fully vaccinated in order to get better protection from coronavirus infection and the vaccination drive took 196 days to achieve it. Queries on symptoms and covid vaccination were answered.
Quiz and essay writing competition were held to mark the celebrations. Hingnamdi Newme i/c Field Publicity Officer FOB, Tuensang gave the welcome address while the vote of thanks was proposed by S. Chang (teacher of GHSS, Tuensang).
