Organized by the Department of Land Resources, Mokokchund, Nagaland, the Culmination programme of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana- Watershed Development Component (PMKSY-WDC) erstwhile Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP), Batch V and VI (Project IX, X and XI) under Mokokchung District was held on 27th September 2021 at Town Hall, Mokokchung.
Addressing the gathering as the special guest, Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh, IAS, said PMKSY ensures convergence with all assets/infrastructure based programmes related to water conservation and management. He said, among the many schemes, Watershed Management Programme (IWMP) is most important because it simply does not deal with water alone, but it covers all the aspects of farming for the main objective of IWMP is to restore ecological balance by harnessing, conserving and developing degraded natural resources.
ADC while appreciating the Department for their tireless effort and commitment towards implementing the programme, also asked the farmers to take advantage by taking proper care of whatever the department is providing. He asked the farmers to be practical so as to carry on with whatever programmes has been done.
