On 3rd December 2023, the third day of the cultural extravaganza at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, was marked by vibrant cultural performances from different tribes. Lt. Gen PC Nair, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, graced the morning session as the chief guest, alongside Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker, Sharingain Longkumer, and Advisor Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan, serving as the Host and Co-Host, respectively.
In his address, Lt. Gen PC Nair commended the vitality of Nagaland's traditions, symbolized by the rhythmic beats of drums and resounding cheers. He expressed the Assam Rifles' commitment to maintaining peace and prosperity in Nagaland. Lt. Gen PC Nair highlighted various initiatives, including a noble project focusing on training 32 students from remote areas for national-level competitive exams in Medical and Engineering.
The cultural fiesta featured traditional dances and songs by cultural troupes representing Angami, Chang, Garo, Ao, Tikhir, Chakhesang, Kuki, Konyak, and Khiamniungan tribes. The event began with a warm traditional welcome for the guests, accompanied by howlings, and a traditional blessing by Tribal Guests, Vilazosie Punyü, the Head GB of Khonoma Village.
The afternoon session witnessed the presence of the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu as the Chief Guest and Minister of Public Health Engineering & Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi as the Host and Advisor Printing & Stationery, Kropol Vitsu as the Co-Host.
AP Legislative Assembly Speaker, Passang D Sona, General Manager North Frontier Railways, Dr. Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, Northeast Frontier Railway, DRM Prem Ranjan Kumar, Alexandro, Capt. Raghu from Adani Group and Baichung Bhutia were the honoured guests.
The session featured cultural songs and dances performed by the following cultural troupes: Lotha, Phom, Pochury, Rengma, Sangtam, Sumi, Kachari, Yimkhiung and Zeliang.
