To ensure peace, free, fair, and smooth conduct of the forthcoming 14th NLA election the Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Wokha Ajit Kumar Ranjan (IAS) held a coordination meeting with all the colony Chairmen and GBs under Wokha Town.

The meeting was also attended by IGP Nagaland Jasper Singh (IPS) and Superintendent of Police, Wokha Aotula T Imchen (IPS).

During the meeting, the DC & DEO appealed to the colony chairmen and GBs to extend support and cooperation to ensure the smooth conduct of the election. DC lauded the chairman and GBs and the Lotha Hoho for coming out with certain resolutions regarding the clean election and containing the law and order situations in their respective colonies.

DC said, additional control measures will be adopted before the poll, where he appealed to the leaders of the various colonies to extend support and cooperation and expressed confidence for a peaceful election.

IGP, Nagaland Training and Border Jasper Singh (IPS) said colony leaders and GBs have a big responsibility to shoulder when it comes to maintaining law and order situation in their areas and urged them to extend utmost cooperation to the Administration and Police and work with a coordinated effort to strengthen their function in containing law and order in the district.

Superintendent of Police, Wokha Aotula T Imchen (IPS) reminded the GBs of their roles and responsibilities in assisting the District Administration and Police in containing law and order situations, where he urged them to maintain neutrality and impartiality in decision-making to avoid any untoward incident. The SP also stated outsiders/non-residents' influence should be discouraged in all the colonies to avoid law and order situations and asked them to report any kind of violence and disturbances in their colonies so that problems can be addressed at the earliest peacefully. SP also reminded all citizens to deposit their Arms licenses in their respective Police Stations at the earliest and warned that failure to deposit the same will lead to cancellation of the arms license.
